I’m Viktor Ilijev, a strategist, designer and entrepreneur with more than 14 years of experience across branding, marketing, content, client strategy and digital business.
I created Direktorium as a place to test how AI and modern digital tools can genuinely help small businesses work better.
Not in theory.
Not through endless lists of “100 AI tools you need to try.”
By actually using them.
I build brands, websites, workflows, content systems, automations and business experiments, then break down the useful parts here, including what worked, what didn’t, and what probably isn’t worth your time.
What I write about
Direktorium focuses on practical applications of:
- Artificial intelligence
- Business automation
- Branding and design
- Marketing and content
- AI prompting and workflows
- No-code and digital tools
- Business strategy
- Productivity and operations
The common thread is simple:
Can this help a small business do something better, faster or more intelligently?
If the answer is yes, it’s worth exploring.
If the answer is “technically yes, but you’ll spend six hours automating a task that takes twelve minutes,” probably not.
Where I’m coming from
Before working independently, I spent around six years as an Account Manager at a leading advertising agency in the Balkans, working with brands including Porsche, Philip Morris, Imperial Tobacco and dm-drogerie markt.
Before and alongside that, I worked extensively in content marketing and SEO, building strategies around editorial content, outreach, organic growth and digital acquisition.
Today, much of my client work sits at the intersection of brand strategy, design and complex technology. I work with startups and B2B companies to make difficult products easier to understand, communicate and buy.
That work naturally led me deeper into AI.
Not because I think AI replaces experience, judgment or taste.
It doesn’t.
But it can dramatically expand what one capable person, or one small team, can do.
Why Direktorium exists
Most small businesses don’t need more software.
They need better ways of working.
AI can help with research, strategy, branding, planning, writing, customer communication, automation and hundreds of other tasks.
But the interesting question isn’t:
“What can AI do?”
It’s:
“What should we actually use it for?”
That distinction is what Direktorium is built around.
I’m interested in tools that create real leverage while keeping the parts of business that still require human judgment: understanding people, making decisions, developing taste, building trust and knowing when something simply isn’t good enough.
The technology will keep changing.
The fundamentals of good business probably won’t.
A practical approach to AI
You’ll find plenty of prompts and tools on Direktorium, but I don’t think the goal should be to outsource your brain to a chatbot.
The best results usually come from combining experience + good judgment + good tools.
AI is the multiplier.
You still need something worth multiplying.
That’s the approach behind everything I publish here.
